John’s Roast Beef was bought by George Nikolakopoulos in 1985
from John Makrakis, who founded it in 1974. Since 1985 George
along with the wife Maria and three children Dimitra, Taso and Peter,
re-established John’s as one of the North Shore’s premier roast beef establishments.
John’s, as the locals like to call it, offers a unique approach to fast-food dining.
A family-owned business for over a quarter century, it offers an upscale
experience while serving its customers quickly and efficiently.
The menu consists of numerous sandwiches, subs, salads, seafood, pastas
and rice. The house specialty is its award-winning roast beef sandwitches.
John’s is known for having a strong local following, but also takes pride in attracting
customers from around the country. Just ask any out-of-state or foreign students.
